Answer by peterleinchen for two fingers swipe for pulley
The 'problem' with differentiating 2-finger swipe from zooming can be done as on desktops, not? There I scroll with two fingers simultaneously in up or down direction and zooming with moving them in...

"Without changing any gestures"? You don't get it, do you? Please re-read the posts.

Like I told in the past pulley menu should be remain visible at the top also if I scrolling down. Maybe a solution for all should be the possibility to scrolling down only at the screen edge and pulley...

**I think this could be solved on this way:** The pulley menu indicator will remain to be only visible at the top (& bottom) but if you put two fingers on the screen the app will get blurred (like...

I beg to differ. I am suggesting to *simplify* the interface. It is too cumbersome now in certain cases. What complexity? OMG, we have 98 swipe gestures now, adding one more would add *so much...

Pulley indicators are those glowing lines on top or bottom of the screen which indicate that there is a pulley menu accessible. You try to create complexity where there is no need to. I surely now that...

Excuse me, but can you please explain what you are talking about? What pulley indicator? All we are saying is, keep the current system as it is, with all the unfortunate artifacts such as having to...

I do not think it would work. Remember the pulley indicator in your scenario. If accessible from every position the indicator has to be visible from every position too. In my oppinion it would over all...

This would be specially useful for applications like **Map** and **Gallery**, where scroll has another meaning.

What a fantastic idea! I just finished typing a long post suggesting exactly the sane thing, only to find that someone else had the same idea before me. To all the nay-sayers, my suggestion would be to...

No, thank you. Not a good idea, at least not to me. I see it as a regression to have to use both hands to use a phone, especially when 20 years ago, I could. Yes, phones have grown in size since the...

... and redundancy is evil, I know. To make this clear: I'm just looking for a more convenient way to interact with the device. And to enter the pulley menu is an elementary part of interaction, but...

Even though I like the current style, I think an alternative way to access the pulley menu would be a very good idea. It would enable use of the menu in applications that have "infinite scroll", such...

This is not redundant, as there is no way to access pulley menu in the middle of a long flickable list or text.

I really dont get why some people suggest more complicated gestures/swipes etc for end users.
View ArticleComment by Fellfrosch
There is no need to replace the current gesture. Why not add just this as an extra possibility, so that you can enter the pully menu from everywhere without the need to scroll to the top at first.

@spacenewt @Milo @gabriel this wouldn't brake the one handedness of the device. Want to use just one hand, fine, scroll to the top. This would however add a *much* needed way of accessing the pulley...

@dthierbach, like Fellfrosch explained, I actually use the same hand to hold the phone and control the touch screen most of the time, just like back in the old days when we all used one hand for the...
